Chapter 87 One Month of Improvement
Chapter 87 One Month of Improvement
The first week of training:
During my first week, I found myself struggling with the magical properties of the Forest of Time. The dense and fluctuating density of mana made it exceptionally difficult to control and wield.
My initial focus was on adapting to the environment and elevating my fundamentals of mana control to a higher level, while also increasing my understanding of the Moon.
However, I often feel frustrated and overwhelmed when struggling with unfamiliar magical environments.
My progress was slow, the air thick with unstable bursts of mana followed by mana depletion. The constantly shifting mana in the environment made it nearly impossible for me to adapt.
This makes the challenge even more difficult, meaning that I have to start from scratch every time the mana density changes.
I reduced my sleep time to only four hours, using the remaining eighteen hours for training. Since using my special abilities depletes my mana, I also need to intensify my physical training.
This period was filled with setbacks and failures. At first, I couldn't even feel any magic power.
However, as time went on, I began to make small but steady progress. I noticed that my mana circuits were becoming more stable and harmonious, a sign that my control over the unique mana here and my own lunar mana was gradually increasing.
Week 2 of training:
In the second week, I turned my attention to combat training.
I battle against time changers and eternal ghosts, using their unpredictable attack methods to hone my combat skills and adaptability.
Although I knew the weaknesses of these two monsters, I did not exploit them. I simply relied on my own body and magic to fight, thereby improving my combat-related skills.
At first, these creatures posed a considerable challenge; their bizarre attack methods often caught me off guard. Because the time manipulators possess an affinity for time, I had to remain constantly vigilant and react quickly. I sustained several injuries during the battles, but fortunately, the potions I brought prevented them from becoming too serious.
After each battle, I gained a better understanding of their patterns and how to respond. My reactions became more agile, and I became better at predicting their attacks.
As I fought and hunted monsters in the dungeon, I realized something.
I don't know the fighting style of every monster, because a game can't possibly cover all the countless possible life forms in this world. Therefore, my knowledge is limited.
Looking back now, I realize that in every battle, I relied on my knowledge. So far, most of the enemies I've faced have been within my knowledge base, but what if in the future I need to fight enemies I don't know anything about?
Relying on knowledge gained from games is a double-edged sword; I must eliminate the parts that are harmful to me.
That's what I'm doing now, by developing my combat awareness and physical abilities. Instead of relying on knowledge, I'm finding my own methods to deal with monsters, observing their weaknesses, patterns, and every detail.
This newly acquired knowledge marks a significant milestone in my training.
Week 3 of training:
In the third week, I focused on meditation and understanding.
My goal is to deepen our understanding of the connection between the Forest of Time and the environment. How does this phenomenon occur, and what are the underlying principles?
When observing the nature and order of this place, it seems both advanced and strange, but I feel I can understand these principles in a better way.
[Perception and Insight]
This characteristic cannot be directly used in combat; like the [Moon], it is part of my body. Thanks to [Perception Insight], my understanding of this place has increased, and I have come to a conclusion.
The four-dimensional theory is a theory proposed by physicists on Earth, which holds that time and space are related and inseparable, while relativity states that the rules of physics change depending on the "framework" in which they exist.
In this space, thanks to the time magic surrounding the space, the constants representing the relationships in the various equations are changing.
I have recorded my observations and understanding of this space. I may need this information in the future, and I may even sell it to monks.
At the same time, I focused on my lunar magic and the mysterious figure in my illusion. Although I had been training my special skills, thanks to Maya's help and my own efforts, my understanding of the magic had increased, which allowed me to better comprehend the figure's movements.
Before, it felt like I was watching a university professor give a lecture, while I was still at a high school level. Now, I've reached the level of a high school student.
At least, I can understand some concepts.
During meditation, I also experienced some moments of déjà vu, making me feel that there was some connection between the forest of time and that figure. I also discovered many symbols that I did not understand.
These are the mysterious symbols I discovered during my exploration, which increased my curiosity.
These moments, though brief, are profound, suggesting that much more awaits to be revealed.
The final week of training:
During my last week here, I further refined my combat skills, focusing on precision and efficiency.
I will continue my exploration.
To be honest, filling my entire day with training was much more tiring than I imagined. My body and mind would sometimes break down. After all, exercising is a painful and uncomfortable thing, and I was combining it with mana control training and aiming practice.
Therefore, I need to relax my mind, and I relax by walking in the shadows and concealing my presence.
I discovered many different symbols, each with its own inscription. They looked ancient and otherworldly. Considering the state of the place, this made perfect sense.
My battles with monsters have become more organized and strategic. I no longer rely solely on predictions and my knowledge, but instead incorporate calculated moves into my fighting style.
My accuracy and timing have improved significantly, allowing me to predict and counter monster attacks with greater confidence. This is mainly due to the changes in spatial rules.
We humans are adaptive beings. Whenever the environment changes, we adapt to it and integrate into the new environment.
However, this ever-changing place, with its shifting rules in quantum space, challenges this characteristic of mine.
And once such a challenge arises, it will inevitably lead to improvement.
Here, gravity, velocity, air friction, the mass, volume, density, etc. of each substance...
Every physical property here is changing. Therefore, I need to get stronger with every training session.
My connection with the moon's magic has deepened, and I have resonated with the time magic of the Forest of Time.
Throughout the training process, I experienced an emotional rollercoaster, from initial frustration and confusion to gradual improvement and curiosity brought about by progress.
And so, my 28th day in this place came to an end.
......
"Ah...it's so hot..."
In front of the dummy, I placed my spot under the scorching sun. I gasped for breath, watching the sweat pour down my body.
It was snowing yesterday, but now I feel like I'm in a desert.
"What a strange place."
I was panting as I reviewed the results of my month of training.
The mannequins in front of me bore the marks of my efforts; their unique wooden frames were covered with countless traces and magical imprints.
"state."
I silently counted to myself and opened the status window that I hadn't checked all month. I wanted to see the overall progress of the past month.

"Hmm...not bad."
Looking at the current state of things, I let out a satisfied sound.
It was worth spending a whole month training myself, although not as much as I expected, but it was still pretty good.
Finally, one of my attributes reached a parameter of 3, and that was my magic power.
In fact, my biggest progress in the past month has been in the moon and archery.
I took an arrow from my bracelet and nocked it on the bowstring.
"call……"
I exhaled softly, focused my mind, and infused the arrow with magic.
Blue-gold magic enveloped the arrow, and I focused my attention on the arrow and the magic within me.
Swoosh
The moment I released the bowstring, the arrow flew towards the dummy.
boom
When the arrow struck the dummy, it exploded instantly, destroying the dummy's frame and knocking it to the ground.
"As expected, the blue-gold firepower is very strong."
This is exactly the characteristic I observed in blue-gold magic: extremely high firepower. It spreads out in an area of effect upon hitting a target.
However, it also has a drawback: its range is relatively short.
When I infuse arrows with this property, the arrows become unstable, and it is difficult to control their trajectory unless at close range.
I also tried to infuse the bullets with blue-gold mana, but because the bullets were too small, it was difficult to compress the energy into them.
It seems the medium needs to be a bit larger, like an arrow.
Just like this mana color, I experimented with all the mana colors and discovered their individual characteristics.
Green—this allows me to lock onto and mark targets with this magic. This color is the most stable for ranged attacks and doesn't affect the attack's trajectory. I use this magic most of the time when using a bow because it's quite reliable and risk-free.
Blue-gold – This magic contains powerful destructive energy, making it difficult to use for ranged attacks. Essentially, it's a high-risk, high-damage-dealing magic.
Red—this magic is better suited to my daggers and melee combat. When I infuse red magic into my daggers and my body, I can feel my power increasing with the severity of my injuries.
It also allows me to continuously withstand damage while attacking, essentially a kind of life-stealing mana.
White—I am still experimenting with this magic, but according to my findings, whenever I infuse this magic, my attack accuracy and attack speed increase as I get closer to the target.
This magic is almost useless if I'm far from the target, but it becomes deadly if I get close.
However, I haven't found a suitable weapon to match this magic yet; none of my current weapons are suitable for it.
Purplish-black—this is the latest mana I've discovered, and it has a strange characteristic. This mana doesn't provide damage-related effects, but rather a support effect.
Group control.
Whenever I use this magic to attack a target, I can manipulate it to increase the gravity they feel, making them slower or even momentarily stunned. However, the mana cost is quite high, and controlling the output is difficult.
This is the basic template for my magic, though it is quite complex. Even now, I'm certain I haven't fully explored all of its contents.
This isn't even the first stage of my characteristics.
Besides these, I also used [Shadow]. Since my focus was on [Moon], it didn't provide much of a boost.
Now, my training is about to end.
"It's time to start preparing to face the Boss; the month is almost over."
I started preparing to leave this place...
