The Apostles had stopped when they saw the light spreading out and they were even more cautious once they saw the barrier come up.
However, they could also feel the danger that came from this thing.
They could feel that the heroes were being healed up by this barrier.
They knew that it would be a matter of time before they recovered enough to fight back against them, so it wasn’t something that they could allow to happen.
It was just that no matter what the Apostles did, they couldn’t break through the barrier.
All of the black ooze that they gathered to attack with, was turned into dust the moment that it made contact with the barrier. It was as if the barrier was some kind of thing that vaporized anything that came into contact with.
But it wasn’t as if this happened with anything else.
It was only when the black ooze came in contact with the barrier that it was destroyed completely.
There really wasn’t anything that the Apostles could do when they saw this until there was this voice that came over all of them.
All of the Apostles suddenly stopped moving and just stared at the barrier before saying all at the same time, "So it seems like you’re planning on interfering. Do you really think that you’ll be able to save them?"
Then as soon as that voice fell, there was this wave of black ooze that appeared around the Apostles.
It was as if there was an explosion with how the wave of black ooze appeared.
It really seemed like it was about to explode into the sky with how much force was behind this explosion. But in the end, there seemed to be something that was controlling the black ooze that stopped it from exploding into the sky.
All of that black ooze gathered around the Apostles and looked like it was being used for something.
Since this black ooze had been gathered like this, there was only one thing that could have been done with it.
As the black ooze floated there in the sky, it seemed like there was something that compressed it. The black ooze continued to compress until it took the form of spears.
However when one looked closely at these spears, they would see that these spears weren’t just normal spears. They were made from the black ooze that had been compressed to the point that it formed a completely new matter.
The amount of energy that was compressed inside each of these spears wasn’t something that one could look down on.
But at the same time, it didn’t seem like this was something that could be done by the normal Apostles.
This seemed like it was something that could only be done by someone that was intimately familiar with the black ooze. Or it could be said that it was the true identity of the black ooze.
"Is it actually the heart of the Black Tide?"
All of the heroes were shocked to see this since this was something that they usually never had a chance to see. Even if they were the strongest heroes, the heart of the Black Tide was something that hid deep in the center of the Black Tide.
After all, it was all over if that heart was taken out.
But seeing the power that this heart drew in, they knew that this heart wasn’t that easy to deal with. Perhaps it didn’t hide because it was afraid of dying, but rather it hid because it might have been too easy if it intervened...
Only it didn’t seem like the spears had an effect on the barrier.
When the spears slammed into the barrier, the same thing happened where they were immediately scattered.
It didn’t matter how concentrated the attacks were, they just weren’t able to break through the defenses of the barrier at all.
"Tch, it seems like you’re going all out to protect these humans. But how long will you be able to keep this up?"
The heroes knew that the heart of the Black Tide was right about this.
With this defensive barrier, it wasn’t as if the Black Tide could be stopped.
Which was why it seemed like the heroes were planning on going out to fight against the Black Tide.
Only before they could do that, the same voice as before said, "Open the portal and run."
The heroes all looked at Percival when they heard this since they knew that he was the only one that could do this.
Percival himself was surprised to hear this, but he did realize that he had recovered enough that he would be able to open up the portal. It was just that he was a bit unwilling to run away from this fight.
Since the heart of the Black Tide was right in front of them, the heroes really wanted to settle it here.
But in the end, they knew that it wouldn’t be possible for them to settle this even if they wanted to. They could all see the power that the heart of the Black Tide wielded and knew that they wouldn’t stand a chance.
If it wasn’t for the barrier that was being cast around them by their god, then they really wouldn’t have been able to do anything against this heart of the Black Tide.
So Percival opened up the portal and sent everyone through.
The other heroes were the ones that went first even though they wanted to remain.
However, they knew that they had to go first since the ones with the relics were the ones that were maintaining this barrier keeping them safe. So if any of these relics were taken away, the barrier would collapse on them.
Which was why the ones with the relics were the last to go.
They all prepared to run the moment that they pulled their relics out of the ground.
After all, the barrier would disappear and they would be in danger the moment that this happened.
