Chapter 212 Wen Zhizhi, are you trying to seduce me?

Chapter 212 Wen Zhizhi, are you trying to seduce me?

During the two days Zhou Qi was abroad, Gu Yanci got off work two or three hours later than usual.

Feeling a little guilty, Wen Yan took her laptop to his office to keep him company while he worked overtime.

Gu Yanci looked up from time to time and saw the beautiful woman on the sofa looking at the documents intently, sometimes typing data on her laptop, sometimes doodling on paper with a marker.

Her study habits weren't very good. When no one else was around, she liked to bend her legs and lean back on the sofa like a lazy ragdoll cat.

Wen Yan looked up suddenly and saw the man looking at her, his gaze deep and unfathomable, revealing nothing of his thoughts.

"What are you looking at?" Wen Yan asked, puzzled.

Gu Yanci put down his pen and asked, "Wen Zhizhi, are you here to keep me company, or are you here to—seduce me?"

"..."

Wen Yan refused to accept such slander and picked up a pillow from behind her, throwing it at the man. Unfortunately, she was too weak; the pillow traced a small parabola in the air before falling to the ground with a "thud!"

When the marketing director came to the office to report on his work, he happened to see his boss bending down to pick up a pillow.

Marketing Director: "..." For a moment, he didn't know whether to return it or not.

Wen Yan was even more embarrassed because her hand was still raised high, maintaining the posture of wanting to throw a second pillow.

"What is it?" Gu Yanci was the most natural one.

As he spoke, he put the pillow back on the sofa, took the one from Wen Yan's hand, and helplessly stuffed it into her arms, his eyes full of doting affection.

The marketing director had long known about the close relationship between Wen Yan and Gu Yanci, but Gu Yanci had not publicly acknowledged who Wen Yan was to him, so he was unsure how to address her.

"You two chat." Wen Yan stood up, tactfully avoiding any appearance of impropriety.

“You’re my wife, there’s nothing I can’t listen to.” Gu Yanci held her hand.

The marketing director's eyes lit up, his gossipy nature ignited, and he breathed a sigh of relief, immediately greeting Wen Yan, "Hello, Madam President!"

Wen Yan glanced at Gu Yanci and suspected that he was doing this on purpose.

She had been to Gu Yanci's office many times, always using his private elevator. Ordinary employees never saw her, but almost all the senior executives of these departments had seen her. None of these shrewd people had asked about her identity. Wen Yan had several strange feelings that Gu Yanci was somewhat unhappy—unhappy that their relationship had remained undiscovered and uninvestigated by anyone.

"I'm going to call Bei Qing." Wen Yan didn't want to listen; she wasn't a senior executive at Gu's Group.

After Wen Yan left, the Marketing Director said, "Mr. Gu, there's been a problem in the European market. Regulators have questions about our cross-border cooperation. Mr. Daniel hopes to discuss this with you in detail within three days."

Halfway through the conversation, Gu Yanci's phone rang.

The caller was Ji Chang.

Gu Yanci didn't answer until the work was finished and the marketing director left, then he called Ji Chang back.

"Come have dinner with me tomorrow night," Ji Chang said, getting straight to the point without any further pleasantries.

She didn't show much affection for her youngest son; rather, she was more concerned with his reactive assertiveness when he became out of control.

"I'm busy." Gu Yanci said coldly.

Ji Chang wasn't angry. "I heard that your cooperation with Zhiyi's father has run into problems. I'll arrange a dinner for you so you can meet with Zhiyi first, how about that?"

Gu Yanci knew that this was Ji Chang's true purpose.

He spoke very bluntly: "Mom, at work, Nan Zhiyi is not qualified to sit at the same table as me."
