Chapter 23: Extraordinary Miracle
Chapter 23: Extraordinary Miracle
Duke Rick glanced at Zhou Yuan, his eyes seeming somewhat strange. Zhou Yuan returned Rick's gaze with a firm look.
"You mean we're going to trap the divine messenger?"
"Yes. If we want to unravel the mystery of the gods, and if we don't want to get involved in the war, we must trap the messengers of the gods."
"There's a problem. What about the Martians? We might not be able to win. We'll need the help of the gods, Thor."
"The divine messenger has now gone to meet the Martians. If the Martians join the alliance, they certainly won't make things difficult for us anymore. If the Martians are unwilling, then we'll just watch how they deal with the divine messenger. We just need to stand by and watch."
“Yes, that’s it.” Duke Rick finally smiled. “So how do we trap the divine messenger? That’s the key.”
"I need to take some time to think about this."
"Alright, think about it first. I'll report to His Majesty Yasuo now. I'm now entrusting you with full authority over the miracles on the island. Lead a group there tomorrow morning. I'm very curious to see what surprises the Yasuo gods will give us this time. Oh, and Rumble, how's the new robot progressing?"
"As you command. In accordance with His Majesty Yasuo and your instructions, the new robots are already in secret mass production, and it is estimated that 3600 million units will be produced in two months."
“Very good, Rambo, I will remember your contribution.”
"Thank you, Duke." After saying goodbye to Rick and leaving the house, Zhou Yuan gave a mysterious smile.
That evening, Zhou Yuan, Wei Shan, and others contacted Caesar, Sakamoto, and others who were secretly investigating on Combe Island and deployed their plan.
Early that morning, four fighter jets took off from the Royal Academy of Sciences helipad and headed south towards Cambe Island. A little over an hour later, the jets arrived at the Cambe Island Miracle Management Office, a place with tight security, heavily guarded, and a ten-kilometer no-fly zone and controlled area. After the handover procedures, Zhou Yuanwei and his three companions, along with more than ten astronomical scientists and over twenty guards, set off towards a large mountain behind the management office.
Ten minutes later, the group arrived at a cave. The miracle administrator opened the cave door, and a magnesium alloy door opened, revealing a vast space with hard stone walls. The walls were clearly man-made, covered with Tiancan script, drawings, and symbols.
They discovered that each miracle was accompanied by the name of the leader or emperor of the time and the date of the miracle. Chronologically, the earliest inscription on the stone wall dates back approximately 7,000 years. At that time, the Tiancan people were still in a primitive tribal society, and early records consisted only of images or hieroglyphs. For example, the earliest is the commonly seen hanging image of the god Thor holding an infant, followed by scenes of the gods teaching the Tiancan people hunting and farming. Later, the gods taught the Tiancan people writing and language, followed by records of toolmaking, from simple magnesium instruments to advanced magnesium-aluminum alloys, from robot construction to propulsion systems. The second-to-last record mentions nuclear fusion and methods for achieving 50% of the speed of light. Finally, of course, is the miracle the messenger mentioned this time. This miracle is peculiar; it has no writing, only several pictures. The first is the five suns of Tiancan; the second is a compass-like diagram of creation, with raised characters visible, but not the Tiancan people's script; the third is a circular, luminous gate through which the front half of a spaceship passes, strangely with different environments on either side; the fourth is a rolled-up curved surface. “Teleportation portal? Warp drive?” Zhou Yuan immediately thought of these two words.
"Gentlemen, I think you all know what this is, but how do you think we should manufacture this door?" The other scientists also shook their heads, completely baffled. Some of the accompanying scientists took photos, while others, following protocol, engraved Emperor Yaso's name and the current time on it.
An hour later, having made no further discoveries, everyone left the cave, and the gate was locked again.
In the middle of the night, a beam of light suddenly appeared in the sky, piercing straight to the mountaintop and disappearing in a few seconds. Zhou Yuan and his companions were teleported to a cave. Wei Shan quickly activated her ring, emitting a bright light that illuminated the cave. They went straight to the last miracle. Zhou Yuan first took photos and videos of the miracle, then stared blankly at the four pictures. The other three watched Zhou Yuan, remaining silent, afraid of disturbing his thoughts.
"That's really strange," Zhou Yuan muttered to himself.
"Dean Zhou, what's wrong?" Wei Shan asked worriedly.
"Oh, it's nothing. I was just wondering, if these four pictures alone couldn't possibly create a portal, I think the key is that compass. Compass, compass... wait, that thing is a beacon!"
"A beacon?" the other three asked, puzzled.
"Yes, that must be it. This miracle is a reminder to the Celestial Beings that they can reach another world through a portal, not that they should create a portal. Oh, I see."
"We still don't understand."
"I only understand now that the gods of Thor built a portal near the five suns in the heavens. This compass-like thing is a beacon. A beacon is like a telephone dialing system, used for location and addressing. Do you understand now?"
"I understand," Wei Shan smiled slightly.
"But how do we find this beacon? Expeditionary forces, miracles, teleportation portals. By the way, Xiao Jian, try pushing that compass."
"Ok."
Xiao Jian gave a gentle push, and miraculously, the stone wall, which was originally without any gaps, was pushed in. Then, accompanied by the sound of metal falling, a silver-white circular object appeared in the hollow stone wall. It was the same shape as the compass carved on the stone wall, but it was surrounded by a halo. There was a noticeable protrusion in the center of the compass. Xiao Jian looked at Zhou Yuan and dared not move.
Zhou Yuan stepped forward, carefully holding the compass, not daring to touch the inscriptions around its surface or the raised center. Zhou Yuan pushed the stone wall down again, and it returned to its original position.
"Let's go, but don't let this get out of the picture."
"clear."
The next day, everyone returned to the capital.
Zhou Yuan took the documents and videos and went directly to Duke Rick's office.
"What does this mean?" Rick asked, puzzled, after looking at the four pictures.
“Duke, I think if we were to create a teleportation portal, these four paintings wouldn't be enough for us.” Rick nodded. “Yes, what is that round object?”
"I think it's a calling device."
"Paging device?"
"Yes, Duke, it seems something terrible has happened." Zhou Yuan looked worried.
"What terrible thing has happened?" Rick seemed nervous as well.
“Look at this compass. The divine messenger is using a miracle to warn us that if we don’t follow and participate in the expedition, he might summon the gods to our world to make things difficult for us. I’m sure there’s a portal near our celestial sun that can transport the entire army of gods here. Duke, didn’t the divine messenger’s warship appear from the direction of the sun the day before yesterday?” Zhou Yuan deliberately reminded Rick.
"Yes, how come I didn't think of that? And the first picture is of our sun."
"Wait, I've got it! All we need to do is find the portal and destroy it."
“Alright, I’ll report this to His Majesty Yaso immediately.” Rick hurriedly left the Academy of Sciences.
In the secret room, Yasuo met with Rick.
"Your Majesty, the scientific expedition team has returned. Here are the documents and videos." Rick played the video.
"What does this mean? Just four images?"
"Yes, Your Majesty, I'm afraid things are going to get very bad," Rick repeated Zhou Yuan's words.
"What? Summoning an army to Tiancan?" Yasuo was somewhat angry.
"I'm afraid so, Your Majesty. Think about it, in the past, miracles taught us detailed scientific and technological methods, but this time they didn't. This time it's clearly a warning to us."
"Then what do we do?"
"If we break off relations, we must trap the divine messenger and, while he is away, destroy the portal near our sun so that he cannot summon the army."
“Yes, that’s right, Rick, let me think. All the warships that were used to deal with the Martians have returned and are on standby. Together with our other warships, a grid search of the vicinity of the sun should be feasible. This cannot be publicized. Issue an order to the outside world that we will be conducting a five-day military parade exercise, and I will personally lead the troops.”
"Yes, Your Majesty."
A grand military parade rehearsal was thus launched.
The Celestial Beings watched as countless warships took off from the sky, flying towards the sun. They then formed ranks around the sun, row upon row, layer upon layer, creating a magnificent spectacle. These formations marched and retreated in an orderly fashion around the sun, like a military parade. The Celestial Beings derived a sense of satisfaction and honor from these warships, and the Celestial World was filled with jubilation. Their support and admiration for Yasuo rose even higher.
After two days of military parade rehearsals, Yasuo found nothing.
On the third day, Yasuo led his fleet in the same search, but three hours had passed without any results. Suddenly, a voice came through the military communications channel: "Your Majesty, Your Majesty, there seems to be an anomaly ahead! The bearing is three o'clock."
"I'm coming right away, await my orders!" Yasuo led hundreds of warships, accelerating rapidly and arriving a minute later. Through his telescope, Yasuo was stunned by the sight before him. A massive, silvery-white ring shone in the sky ahead, radiating light. The entire ring seemed to be absorbing the sun's energy, clearly causing the temperature in the area in front of it to rise. Suddenly, the symbols on the ring began to move!
"All warships, fire!" Yasuo gave the order.
Beams of lasers and rows of nuclear missiles rained down on the ring, followed by an increasing number of warships joining the furious barrage. The ring suddenly stopped, and a silver-white disc-shaped object shot out, followed immediately by a second, hurtling towards the Yaso fleet.
"Squadrons 10 and 11, hold them off. The rest of the warships, continue firing on the ring." Yasuo, true to his reputation as the King of Men, remained calm. He knew that the ring had to be destroyed, otherwise the endless stream of troops would cause serious trouble.
"As ordered."
Finally, the halo of light gradually dimmed and eventually went out. Apart from the two disc-shaped flying objects, nothing else flew out. Yasuo breathed a sigh of relief.
"Your Majesty, this is the Tenth Squadron Command. The enemy projectiles have fallen toward the sun, and we have not seen them since."
"Yes, sir. All warships return to their positions. We will continue the review. All fleets, this matter must not be disclosed!"
"As ordered."
